International Connections

Fostering cross-cultural, cross-country connections

Education Subcategories

What do we mean by International Connections and why is it important?

On Tech Jobs for Good, we include International Connections as a category under Education because we believe that learning about other cultures is an important component for a more compassionate and empathetic world.

International connections and education can help people gain better understanding and appreciation of different global cultures, languages, and customs. As global citizens, learning about other cultures and countries can help us form meaningful relationships with others and develop intercultural communication. Learning about other cultures can also challenge existing assumptions and even open us up to new perspectives and ways of thinking.

How is educational technology (EdTech) supporting international connections and understanding?

EdTech is helping to bridge the gap between different cultures and countries by creating improved access to educational materials and resources. For example, the use of virtual reality apps to explore different countries and cultures is becoming increasingly popular. Online language learning tools are making it easier for people to learn different languages and engage with multiple cultures. Technology also supports the development of learning materials and books produced by companies and organizations around the world which can provide a comprehensive source of learning resources for different countries and cultures. Tech is also being used to connect people virtually from different countries, provide cross-cultural mentorship, and help digitally capture languages and cultural customs.
