Arabella Advisors seeks an individual who can help drive our use of Salesforce toward best practices to improve automation and efficiency with a focus on Managed Organizations (MO), our largest line of business. The Associate Director, Salesforce Strategy and Business Analyst, will be responsible for leading the Salesforce strategy for the MO team, encompassing determining annual work plans, execution priority, and sourcing resources for the work, with a focus across the systems we use internally to serve our clients as well as client-facing technology. There is a high level of stakeholder engagement and management across MO, as well as with the Arabella centralized IT team. This role will manage the relationships between Arabella’s third-party Salesforce consultants and is expected to work with consulting partners and business units to solve business problems, managing all aspects of medium/large projects using best practices for technology enhancements.
MO team members are deeply passionate about the role that smooth, efficient back-office organizational operations play in achieving social impact. Our colleagues are experienced and skilled in areas like non-profit (c3) and (c4) compliance, budgeting and finance, human resources, technology, and project management. This is a great role for someone ready to lead Salesforce strategy and initiatives on a growing and dynamic team.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Set annual plan for Managed Organizations Salesforce innovations, updates, and improvements, taking into account client and internal staff input and in alignment with MO- and firm-level strategy
  • Lead the execution of the annual plan and related priorities, adjusting course as necessary
  • Lead a growing team focused on MO Salesforce initiatives and ongoing support
  • Leverage Salesforce knowledge across MO to plan and manage implementation of technical and operational automation and workflow solutions for MO departments 
  • Identify opportunities for MO improvements and serve as project manager or key subject matter expert and strategist on complex technical projects
  • As part of the Salesforce Center of Excellence, ensure Arabella, and specifically MO, has a sophisticated CRM software for future scale and growth
  • Develop trusted partnerships across MO and the centralized IT team, to ensure understanding of impact across all platforms and teams of system improvements
  • Manage firm’s dedicated Salesforce consultant, including capacity, contract, and invoices
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in technology, business analysis, and/or project management roles
  • Expert understanding of Salesforce and process improvement. Familiarity with and/or experience working within a fiscal sponsorship structure is a huge plus.

  • The ability to take ownership and be creative and solutions-oriented when encountering challenges that don’t have obvious answers, including the ability to solve challenges independently
  • The ability to effectively help communicate complex and nuanced messages to a variety of audiences, including adapting style, tone and content to meet various needs
Other Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Degree in technology, mathematics, business, finance or other related field
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification

Total Rewards (compensation and benefits)  
This is a full-time position. We offer a competitive and holistic total rewards package that includes salary, bonus, and benefits. Our base salaries are based on a blend of similar sized organizations from different sectors, including nonprofits, foundations, and professional service firms. They are also based on local market rates and differentiated by geography.  
All full-time staff are eligible for our generous benefits package on their first day of employment:

While this position must be based in Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA, Chicago, IL, Durham, NC, or New York, NY, please note that due to COVID-19, all Arabella Advisors' offices are closed, and we continue to temporarily work in a remote environment.  
When we reopen -- currently anticipated in early 2022 -- we will be returning to work with a hybrid workplace strategy to ensure continued flexibility for our staff, while deepening our strong culture rooted in collaboration and in-person interactions between colleagues.
