We also operate the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth and run innovative research, education, and advocacy programs. Overview of the role

As a Technical Project Manager, you will lead projects of key organizational significance as we work to end suicide among LGBTQ young people. You will create comprehensive project plans, and manage cross-functional resources, interdependencies, timelines, and budgets for these projects to ensure that our projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meet the defined scope and acceptance criteria. You will be the go-to person for everything involving a project's organization and timeline. This role works closely with technology vendors and cross-functional stakeholders to continually improve project execution and ensure project investments are prioritized, managed, and delivered successfully.


Who you are

    • Tech savvy. You have 3+ years of experience managing technology projects  and have a digital-first mindset. You have led  a variety of projects including networking, systems, DNS, SSO, and device management. You have extensive experience in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies. Using your deep knowledge of technology, you know how to work with product teams to achieve world-class results. 
    • Team player. You are comfortable working in teams. You are capable of managing multiple project teams and have strong problem solving skills.  
    • Experienced. You have a track record of successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of a variety of technical projects and initiatives. You are comfortable managing multiple (3-7) projects concurrently .
    • Technical translator.  You can explain complex technical concepts in such a way that even non-technical audiences understand.
    • Collaborative. You have worked closely with cross-functional technical teams to ensure that program deliverables and milestones are defined, scheduled, and executed on time.
    • Flexible. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and working through competing priorities.
  • Good with data integration. You have worked on a variety of data integration projects, specifically involving interlinking systems and importing/mapping data.
  • Clear communicator. You have the ability to clearly, concisely, and effectively convey thoughts and ideas in visual, verbal, and written formats.
  • Passionate. You care about LGBTQ youth. You care about saving lives. You want to come to work and feel inspired every day. You want to change the world.
  • Fun. The work we do is very serious, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have fun. We know how to have a good time and you should too.


What you’ll do

  • Work with senior leadership and other program management leads to assess and define technology project roadmaps with clear deliverables and milestone dates
  • Partner with IT Manager to lead  IT team members through project deliverables, utilizing Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Serve as an advocate, coach, and mentor for the Agile methodology
  • Prioritize and escalate critical operational tasks
  • Execute and revise project work plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Create workflow diagrams of production technology processes and identify opportunities to streamline processes or improve efficiency
  • Communicate project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities, and other relevant information to stakeholders and leadership
  • Create and maintain documentation including executive summaries, steering committee decks, weekly status reports, and sprint and project retrospectives
  • Facilitate resolution of issues and roadblocks
  • Deliver projects on time ensuring quality, compliance, legal, and technical standards are met
