The Role
As a Software Engineer you will work closely with Product, Quality Assurance, and other Engineers as part of a Scrum team to refine and implement new functionality.
What You Will Do
- Making decisions that contribute to the success of your team in achieving the sprint goal.
- Writing code consistent with architectural patterns. (e.g. Microservices, Facades, Factories, etc) and principles (e.g. SOLID, DRY, Common Closure, Common Reuse, etc)
- Writing unit tests and refactoring existing code to improve maintainability of the product.
- Determining root causes of problems and solving them.
- Receiving and giving code review feedback and pair-programming.
- Contributing to the constant improvement of yourself, your team, and the whole software development process.
What You Need to Succeed
- Experience with Node.js is a requirement for this role.
- Experience with Typescript
- Experience with single page application frameworks (React.JS) and Javascript architecture beyond jQuery and DOM manipulation.
- Strong SQL skills (ANSI)
- Knowledge of multi-threading and asynchronous operations.
- Experience with unit-testing.
- Experience with Distributed Version Control Systems (preferably Git) and branching methodologies (preferably GitFlow)
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices.
- Experience working in Scrum, strong familiarity with Scrum ceremonies and agile principles.
Nice to Have
- Experience with .NET Core is a plus.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is: $93,000 - $125,500. You may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, as well as applicable employment laws.
Location
This is a permanent, full-time, fully remote position. Employees living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada are welcome to work from our local office. We do not offer Visa sponsorship or relocation assistance at this time.
