Description
The Assistant Project Manager works with Project Managers to ensure the success of client projects and develops skills and experience as a software project manager. This person participates in all aspects of our process, and supports the team by tracking projects from business development through discovery, production, delivery, handoff and maintenance.
The assistant PM does several key things:- Works daily with Project Managers, assists with the management of client projects and internal product efforts.
- Tracks a large number and variety of requirements, schedules, budgets, tasks, assignments, deadlines and people, across many projects.
- Collaborates externally with clients, and internally with staff, removing obstacles, reducing uncertainty and detecting risks early so they can be avoided or mitigated.
Requirements
The candidate should have work experience, a degree, or a certificate in the field of Digital Humanities. The ideal candidate will also have some experience in being part of a software development project. This role requires a solid understanding of the Digital Humanities, and of Software Development processes, and the intersection between the two. The assistant PM must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and must be an independent problem solver and an imaginative collaborator. Must be able to work remotely with our team in the US/East time zone, and our clients worldwide.
Responsibilities

Assists in development of proposals for prospective clients.

Schedules meetings and compiles agendas and meeting notes.

Writes high quality, detailed user stories and action items.

Performs research, writing and editing work for client projects.

Provides text markup, image preparation, data cleanup and ingestion, and website content updates.

Develops and delivers support, training, and documentation materials and services.

Supports project managers in developing project plans and budgets.

Supports operations manager in other aspects of the company’s operations.

Represents Performant enthusiastically and professionally.

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience.
