Purpose:

The Senior Manager of Impact Data & Evaluation is a new position responsible for the development, project management and oversight of impact data and evaluation systems and processes to strengthen our culture of data-driven decision-making and help us tell the story of our impact to a variety of audiences. A successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, tech-savvy, detail-oriented, highly organized, and have a ‘no job is too big or too small’ attitude.

 

From designing effective surveys and data collection systems, to coaching impact teams to implement best practices for tracking and evaluating our impact, to identifying the right tools for data visualization and creating a central data hub, we seek a Sr. Manager who can take our impact and evaluation work to the next level.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Data & Evaluation Process Design, Implementation, & Oversight (80%)

Conduct impact data mapping to identify most critical KPIs that drive progress toward programmatic goals.

Design and assist teams with the implementation of new systems, tools, and processes to enhance data collection & data integrity for program impact and evaluation.

Drive toward the development of a centralized data repository/dashboard that makes key data regularly available to staff to be able to communicate our impact and make informed decisions.

Produce regular reports of project progress, major milestones, and any emerging issues/challenges to keep leaders informed.

Maintain a central repository of impact & evaluation resources and conduct regular training on data best practices (i.e. survey design, data hygiene, etc.) to deepen our culture and staff knowledge of effective impact evaluation.

Audit our data systems and processes to ensure reliability and integrity of data.

Partner with others (i.e. People Operations team or Salesforce Manager) to strengthen use of systems and tools that are essential to data and evaluation goals (e.g., Salesforce, Asana, Quorum), remaining responsive to impact team needs by elevating needs and collaborating on solution identification to ensure reliability and integrity of data.

Other data and evaluation operations duties as assigned.

 

Data Analysis, Evaluation & Reporting (20%)

Oversee that teams complete the Monthly Report on time, and provide summary analysis from those reports on a monthly basis.

Assist with (or lead) Mid-year Evaluation, and provide summary analysis from those reports.

Assist with identifying and supplying the key data needed to tell our impact story for the End of Year report.

Provide data analysis and help to package our impact data story as needed, to support fundraising and communication efforts.

Occasionally assist with landscape/field research and ecosystem analysis to identify what’s already out there and what works/what doesn’t based on the learnings of others, to inform new and existing program innovation and iteration, as directed by CSO.

Support annual planning and impact evaluation processes, as needed.

 

Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree

At least 3 years of experience with data collection and analysis, and 2 years in project management, especially managing cross-departmental projects that involve people from multiple teams where they are not your direct reports.

Tech and data savvy (proficiency with both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods are a must; proficiency with Google applications and Salesforce, experience with data visualization dashboard tools such as Tableau).

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information into clear written, verbal, or visual analysis for non-technical audiences.

Excellent project management and organization skills.

Demonstrated commitment to social justice.

Ability to manage time effectively, manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment and remain highly communicative and accountable is a must.

Travel:

Occasional travel may also be required, including for an annual in-person staff retreat.

All full-time employees receive Medical, Dental & Vision coverage. Dream.Org pays 100% of premiums for employee, spouse and dependents. Part-time employees receive 50% coverage. After a 6 month waiting period, employees can contribute to our retirement plan. Currently, Dream.Org offers up to a 5% match. We also offer a flexible spending, pre-tax program for medical expenses, dependent care expenses, transit expenses and parking expenses. All full-time Dream.Org employees accrue 4 weeks of vacation time off and 12 days of sick time off over the first year of employment. Part-time employees accrue time off on a prorated basis. In addition to 10 paid holidays, Dream.Org also provides paid time off from December 24th through January 1st each year.
