We live by the saying "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure", and our mission is to empower healthy and thriving communities. Ounce is a first-of-its-kind community-based service model. Enabled by technology, we provide services to residents of affordable housing properties, improving engagement and outcomes at scale.

From one of our Community Navigators: "I LOVE MY JOB AND I LOVE THIS TEAM!  Several weeks ago I asked the team for advice with a resident that was refusing to work with me despite being in danger of eviction because he was not able to care for his home or himself.  The team gave me so many suggestions and I listened.  My resident had not taken medication in several months despite being a recent stroke victim and having several chronic conditions and mental health needs.  He had no furniture and was sleeping on a cot.  He had no means of getting food.  And he was angry, blaming me and property management for his situation.  Even though he pushed me away, I continued to check on him.  Eventually he softened a bit and would allow me to talk with him about services that could help him.  As of today I have been able to get him a mobile pcp that sees him monthly, home-delivered meals, an apartment full of furniture and homemaker services provided by ETHRA.  He is taking medications again to address both physical and mental health conditions.  He now comes out of his apartment and attends events. His attitude toward me has drastically changed.  He smiles when he sees me and actually comes to my office to see me. So, thanks team, your encouragement allowed me to persist and make a difference for this man "
