Are employers required to post a salary range on their job postings?
Yes! As of January 1st, 2023, Tech Jobs for Good requires that all jobs include a good-faith
salary range to be included on the site. This means that salary ranges with an unreasonable
minimum salary (ex. $1 - $120,000) and excessively wide salary ranges (ex. $50,000 -
$250,000) will not be seen as acceptable salary ranges.
We believe that sharing a salary ranges on job postings helps save job seekers time, improves
pay equity for women and for people of color, increases employee performance and engagement,
and reduces employee turnover.
Additionally, many states and municipalities are requiring that job postings require
salaries. Learn
more about our salary policy here.
