Since OpenAI launched ChatGPT a generative AI chatbot and virtual assistant that creates human-like conversations, in November of 2022, Google had to up its game and follow suit.

Shortly after ChatGPT launched, the search giant unleashed Google Gemini (initially launched as Google Bard), its most capable AI model. According to the search engine giant, its powerful AI technology helps Google users accomplish more in less time.

On May 14, 2024, at Google I/O, Google’s annual developer conference, the company announced that AI Answers are going live immediately in the United States. The new search feature will be launched gradually in global markets. AI Overviews, which puts summaries of popular answers to questions on top of search results
