AI and Principled Innovation: Digital Trust in Action

Are your emerging technology decisions grounded in trust? Explore AI, data privacy, and Principled Innovation in this thought-provoking session. As artificial intelligence becomes embedded in teaching, learning, research, and operations, how do we ensure our practices remain grounded in trust, transparency, and responsible decision-making? Join us for a conversation on the standards that guide our choices regarding data and privacy. Together, we’ll explore real-world challenges of using AI and share practical tools for evaluating emerging technologies through the lens of Principled Innovation. This workshop will help attendees:

  • Identify key digital trust considerations in the use of AI across teaching, learning, research, and operations, with attention to data use, system integration, and vendor engagement.
  • Describe institutional tools and processes such as the VITRA process that support responsible innovation and promote secure, privacy-conscious emerging technology adoption.
  • Ask critical questions through the lens of Principled Innovation to assess the risks, benefits, and broader impacts of AI and other emerging technologies.
