AI Literacy for the Future

We hear a great deal about how AI will change the future of work, our economies – and maybe even solve social and environmental problems. Some employers are asking for employees with ‘AI Skills’, and schools and universities setting are increasingly asked to build some kind of AI engagement into their courses. But what does it actually mean to be ‘AI literate’ or have ‘AI skills’? What does AI really mean for the future of work? Can AI solve social and environmental problems – or will it make them far worse? In this session we go beyond AI hype to ask: how can we be ready for a world shaped by ever-expanding AI use, and what must we do to ensure it doesn't exacerbate some of the biggest challenges facing our planet?
