Description

ABOUT THE LECTURE SERIES

The NYU Tandon School of Engineering Cybersecurity Lecture Series provides an arena for high-level discussion among world-class scholars and practitioners. Sponsored by AIG - the multinational insurance organization – lectures and panel discussions are designed to raise the visibility of risks and issues, including personal privacy. Internationally renowned experts join together to stimulate collaborative thinking, especially among New York’s regional businesses, government agencies, non-profits, academic institutions, media, and the public. Practical and timely, the series also focuses on possible strategies that address the impact of growing risks.

Cyber Lecture 14: Public-Private Partnerships

Public-Private Partnerships are critical to keeping our world safe and secure, even beyond cybersecurity and protecting our critical infrastructure. But what are they, how do they work, and how can we ensure they have the support and investment to be successful? We'll discuss public-private partnerships from a government, industry, and academic perspective and address the challenges and opportunities they pose across sectors.

Our keynote speaker, Roshan Navagamuwa, is Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of AIG. Roshan is responsible for leading AIG’s global technology and cybersecurity strategy; managing core infrastructure, technology partnerships and process engineering efforts; and executing AIG’s cloud strategy along with other technology modernization.

Following Roshan's keynote talk, Distinguished Fellow and Adjunct Professor of Law Judith Germano will moderate a discussion with a diverse panel of experts who will offer their own perspectives on how we can collectively expand the impact and success of these partnerships.

Panelists include:

Ann Barron-DiCamillo - Managing Director, Global Head of Cyber Operations, Citi

Justin Cappos - Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, NYU Tandon

Kelli Hepburn - Global Head of Identity Access Management, AIG

Joe Lawlor - Supervisory Special Agent, FBI

A networking reception will follow the panel discussion. We hope you will join us for an engaging discourse around this critical topic.
