Black Tech Columbus is excited to announce an upcoming panel discussion on Thursday, June 1st at the CoverMyMeds headquarters as we bring together experts in the field to share their insights and experiences on what it's like to work in healthcare technology and where the industry is heading.

The panel will include the following speakers:

George Essilfie, Director of Product Operations at Veeva

George Essilfie Jr., a cloud technology executive, combines his passion for science and technology with a dedication to innovation and execution. A former Senior Scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim, he transitioned from scientist to technologist, merging his Biochemistry and Business Information Systems background.

As Director of Product Operations at Veeva Systems, a $2B life sciences cloud software provider, George drives go-to-market workstreams for clinical research site and patient technologies. Collaborating with diverse teams, he ensures seamless delivery of features and products that streamline medicine, vaccine, and medical device development worldwide.

With a track record of strong leadership, George has managed teams large and small, overseeing large application portfolios and catering to hundreds of customers. His experience spans life sciences organizations with extensive global presence.

Driven by a desire for positive impact, George consistently explores innovative opportunities at the intersection of people, process, and technology, aiming to drive meaningful outcomes and contribute to making the life sciences industry better.

Chavaughn Gibson, Healthcare FinTech Portfolio Manage at McKesson

Chavaughn, a seasoned professional in the Managed Care contracting and reimbursement sectors of the Healthcare industry. She currently serves as FinTech Product Manager at McKesson Pharmaceuticals. She leads efforts with software engineers, data analyst, healthcare business leaders, and government affairs teams to deliver innovative solutions, for thousands of pharmacies across the U.S., to solve problems manage the complexities of payer contracts, reimbursement and financial reporting.

She is a co-founder of The Daughters Den. A non-profit organization dedicated to innovative approaches to intergenerational healing for Black women and girls; and currently serves a the president for the Central Ohio chapter of the National Association of Health Service Executives, a National Board member of McKesson Pharmaceutical’s Black Employee Resource Group and PrimaryOne Healthcare Justice Awards,

She was named as one of Northeast Ohio’s top 20 under 30, received the American College of Healthcare Executives Northeast Ohio’s Regent Award for Future Healthcare Executives, the ColumbusCEO’s 2021 Healthcare Achievement Award, and McKesson’s 2022 Team Mate of the Year for Community Pharmacy and Health.

Mohamed Kamara, Founder and CEO at Inovcares

Mohamed is the founder and CEO of InovCares Connected Comprehensive Healthcare, LLC. He was inspired to develop InovCares following the tragic loss of both his sister and his aunt to pregnancy hemorrhage & preeclampsia. Previously, Mohamed was the Director of Operations for the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs. During his time at the center, he supported 150 minority-led businesses from idea to growth stage and headed the center's nonprofit financial statement preparation, budgeting, billing, and receivables, building operations, and maintenance.

Mohamed has served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Goodie Nation, Chief Financial Officer for Wellness Healthcare Clinic, and several roles as Program Leader for Startup Leadership Program, Manager of FP&A for National Fire Sprinkler Association, Senior Financial Analyst for TSYS, Senior Valuation Analyst for Rea & Association, and Senior Financial Analyst for AirNet Systems, Staff for Ernst & Young.

Mohamed is also the host and producer for The Empowered Patient Podcast sponsored by InovCares, where he connects with healthcare providers, payor executives, and other healthcare leaders. He has been featured by Forbes, Google, Google Play, Android, Axios, Washington Post, Politico, Protocol, Medscape Education, Becker's Healthcare, AfroWellness Magazine, and other news outlets for his work with InovCares.
