Description

Looking to break into Tough Tech? Join us for an intern event at The Engine designed for students and early-career talent who want to understand what it takes to build meaningful careers in high-impact fields.

Hear from a panel of leaders across the Tough Tech ecosystem as they share what brought them to Tough Tech, what it looked like to build their companies, and how they think about finding and growing great teams:

  • Heidi Arjes, VP of Research & Development at Outpost Bio, resident company at LabCentral

  • Evan Haas, Co-founder & CEO at Helix Carbon, resident company at The Engine

  • Charles McGinn, Lead Systems Engineer at Dottir Labs, resident company at Greentown Labs

The conversation will be moderated by Andrew Takacs, Director of Partnerships at The Engine. Following the panel, attendees will have the opportunity to network with speakers and fellow guests.

This event is a chance to hear directly from people building companies and ecosystems at the frontier of climate, biotech, and breakthrough science. Whether you’re exploring internship opportunities or curious about where Tough Tech can take you, you’ll leave with a clearer view of the paths into the field and the possibilities ahead.

Open to interns and co-ops at companies across The Engine, Greentown Labs, LabCentral, and the broader Boston Tough Tech community.
