Description

Tech Starter 2023 is launching this month, January 25th, with a virtual panel discussion hosted by Microsoft. The "Tech careers unlocked" by Microsoft Ireland will begin with introducing how wide the tech area is and will build momentum to present you with various roles. Where each expert presents their role, what skillset is needed, what day-to-day life looks like, plus how you can stand in their shoes one day. We hope to familiarize you with different professions and provide you with many options waiting for you. This event will also give you the opportunity to ask questions during Q&A and network with colleagues in the tech field.

The discussion will feature a panel consisting of:

  • Edward Meade (Software Engineer)
  • Sima Banijamali (Product Manager)
  • Nektar Altintoprak (Designer)
  • Youssef Naggar (Cloud Solution Architect)
  • Elaine Willis (Software Engineering Manager)
  • Krystallia Savvaki (Software Engineer)
  • Maeve Tait (Software Engineering Manger)

Connecting Women in Technology (CWIT) is a network of Irish based technology companies who all share a common goal to support the development of women in the technology industry. Founded by Accenture, Dell and Microsoft in 2011, the network today spans over 20 leading multinational technology companies, who all collaborate to attract, promote and encourage women in STEM careers.

The Tech Starter series began 3 years ago and is delivered to STEM students in third level institutions. The series consists of several monthly events from panel discussions on careers in STEM, to CV and interview workshops. At these events, students can expect to learn about what it’s like to work for a technology company and making the transition from third level to the workplace. The aim of Tech Starter is to reduce the numbers of female dropouts from STEM degrees and increase the number of students who enter STEM/technology roles after graduation.
