​About the Expert: Tom is the Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance Philanthropy, where he leads efforts to recruit high-net-worth individuals, families, and foundations to fund transformational science, technology, and innovation projects. Prior to this role, Tom served as Chief Innovation Officer at Schmidt Futures, where he led initiatives to harness technology for societal challenges, improve science policy, and pursue 21st-century moonshots. Tom also served in the White House for two Presidents (Obama and Clinton), helping to design and launch national science and technology initiatives.
