Empower Young People with Tech: Designing Merch in Canva

Let your young people unleash their creativity by designing cool merch using Canva’s easy tools!

Let your children aged 10 to 18 join us online for a fun, practical 90-minute creative workshop where young people will learn how to turn their ideas into eye-catching merchandise designs using Canva. This session builds on our recent, Empower Girls with Tech programme, while also welcoming new participants who want to explore digital design, creativity and how their ideas can be transformed into products such as T-shirts and tote bags.

During the workshop, participants will learn how to:

* Create a simple merchandise design from scratch using Canva

* Choose colours, fonts, graphics and layouts that work well together

* Develop an idea, phrase or message into a finished design

* Create designs suitable for products such as T-shirts or tote bags

* Use Canva tools and features with greater confidence

* Preview their designs on product mock-ups

No previous design experience is needed. Participants simply need access to a device, an internet connection and Canva.

Previous participants are encouraged to join us to build on what they have already learned through our Designing Journals in Canva workshops and new participants are very welcome.
