Join your fellow neighbors in Canada virtually for the upcoming Green Software Foundation Event hosted by Microsoft and learn more about sustainability for developers, designers, and technologists. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Green Software Foundation is a non-profit with the mission to create a trusted ecosystem of people, standards, tooling, and best practices for green software.

The Green Software Foundation aims to change the culture of building software across the tech industry, so sustainability becomes a core priority to software teams, just as important as performance, security, cost, and accessibility.

The Foundation's mission is to reduce the total change in global carbon emissions associated with software. Ensuring that all our members and contributors feel that they can actively contribute will ensure that we create an environment that promotes belonging and will lead to better outcomes.

This virtual event will be hosted on Altspace VR. We will be using a VR event space in Avanade's London office. For those who are unable to join the experience on AltSpace VR the experience will be broadcast on Teams simultaneously.

Topic: The Principles of Sustainable Software Engineering

Software Carbon Intensity / The Principles of Sustainable Software Engineering How to carbon score your software – for those in the datacenter space think of this as PUE for Software.

Speaker: Avanade UK

Topic: Carbon CI Pipeline Tooling Carbon Pipeline Tooling / Demo reference architecture to calculate the carbon emissions of an application via static analysis of the application code and associated infrastructure as code Azure resources.

Speaker: Microsoft Canada

Topic: Cloud migration and sustainability How customers are maximizing, and reporting on, the sustainability benefits of their cloud migrations
