Learn more about our speakers:

Alyssa is a Full Stack Engineer at Gusto on the Financial Products team. She has been building web applications and consulting on them for ten years. Beyond supporting Gusto Wallet, Alyssa spends her time exploring the Colorado outdoors, traveling for friends and food, and cuddling her pups.

Orsi is a Software Engineer on the Growth team at Gusto. Recently, she has been modernizing legacy tech stacks and working with Next.js. Outside of work, Orsi likes to read, play board games and hike.

Sami Austin (he/they) is an artist, library super fan, and senior software engineer at Etsy. He's been coding for over four years remotely from their home in Denver, CO where he lives with his partner, two dogs, and one very loud cat. For the past two years, they've been learning everything they can about digital accessibility and cannot wait to rage against the ableism machine with the Gusto crew!

Sheryl has been a software engineer at Name.com for 2 years, and she recently helped launch a redesign of Name.com using Vue and Typescript. Before becoming a software engineer, Sheryl worked as a wine chemist, a software engineering recruiter, and a yoga teacher. Outside of work, Sheryl loves telling her cats how cute they are and traveling to as many places in the world as she can.

As an earth scientist turned software engineer, Karin is passionate about building software to better understand and combat the effects of climate change. She recently started at Project Canary, working to build new products to help utility companies better detect greenhouse gas emissions due to leaks in their infrastructure. In her free time, Karin enjoys running in Wash Park and camping trips with her family.

Amy is a Payroll Engineer at Gusto who fell in love with coding for the fun of solving toy problems, and now loves it for the gratification of solving real problems. In a previous life, she was a pharmaceutical chemist, an English teacher, and a candlemaker.
