Intro to Rust for Web Developers

We are excited to have Jacob Asper introduce us to Rust!

Rust is often associated with systems-level programming and extremely fault-tolerant systems, but how does the development experience hold up compared to JavaScript or Python?

Learn about the state of web development in Rust and why you may want to try it even if you aren't handling millions of requests or developing firmware!

We'll learn about:

• The history of Rust
• Rust tooling you might already be using like SWC, FNM, or Ruff
• Web development projects adopting Rust like Tailwind and Vite
• Rust's web development ecosystem
• Rust's development experience

Then we'll get our hands dirty with a small project!

You won't need to bring anything but questions!
