In a world of constant notifications and endless scrolling, our attention is constantly being fragmented. This presentation explores how mindfulness can help us navigate digital spaces with intention and balance. Learn practical strategies to cultivate awareness, reduce tech-induced stress, and foster deeper connection with yourself and others.

By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:

-Recognize the impact of digital habits on their overall well-being.

-Apply mindfulness techniques to reduce digital overwhelm and increase intentional tech use.

-Design personalized digital boundaries that support presence and productivity.

Kate Dunn (she/her) is a professor of Sociology at Conestoga College. She holds a Masters degree in Sociology from Western University and has nearly two decades of teaching experience at the post-secondary level in Interdisciplinary Studies. She obtained her certification in Unified Mindfulness (2022) and has both taught and developed courses focused on Positive Psychology and Digital Wellness. Her written work has been featured in the London School of Economics and Political Science, Gender & Society, Contemporary Sociology, and the Canadian Journal of Sociology. A strong advocate for mental health and well-being, Kate is also the founder of Rooted in Wellness Canada, an online platform committed to sharing the principles of Positive Psychology and enhancing and fostering a culture of positive mental health within the community in which she lives and works.
