Resilience Reimagined — Six-Month Leadership Series (January–June 2026)
Join the Dean’s Virtual Speaker Series for a six-month journey through cutting-edge emergency management topics, co-hosted by Dean Alexander Siedschlag and Emergency, Disaster and Global Security Studies Department Chair Tanya Corbin, and featuring alumnus Dennis Caliyo, Emergency Disaster Services Director, The Salvation Army – Golden State Division. Each monthly session includes expert briefing plus hands-on engagement such as case studies, simulations, or role plays. Participants who complete all six sessions will earn 0.6 CEUs.
Month 4: Digital Tools for Disaster Directors – Tech in Emergency Management
Discover how today’s digital tools are transforming emergency management. Month 4 introduces leaders to GIS mapping, crisis dashboards, and mobile applications that enhance situational awareness and decision-making. Participants will also explore FirstNet, satellite communications, and cloud-based EOC platforms, culminating in a hands-on demonstration to build a simple incident dashboard.
