When we think of data, we often think of numbers: demographics, performance metrics, health statistics, or population counts. But equitable data practice requires a broader understanding that values stories, lived experience, and people sharing their views in their own words.
Qualitative data is an integral part of program design, evaluation, and research. It is a critical component of community-centered data strategy and practice. Stories provide relatable human context and shift the lens through which we view programs, policy, and participation. Qualitative data collection and analysis can deepen understanding of what works, what doesn’t, and why.
In this session, participants will explore how stories and qualitative data can help us understand impact and hear how social sector organizations are integrating these strategies into their work.
