Our Speakers

James Allen

James is the Project Manager for the Connected Innovation Programme. He is responsible for strategic activity on innovation, leading on the Regional Innovation Action Plan with Innovate UK. He is Project Manager for the Creative East scale-up and investment readiness programme and manages the relationship with the New Anglia Innovation Board, Agri-Food Industry Council and Council for Digital Tech. James engages with key Government Departments, UKRI, Innovate UK and the Catapults to deliver our innovation ambitions, leading various bids to support the Agri-Tech sector, to establish the Space East Cluster (UK Space Agency funding) and to deliver Creative East (DCMS’ Create Growth Programme).

David Kaye MSci MIET FRSA

David is a freelance innovation advisor, coach, and grant writer with 15+ years experience in SME business development and innovation management. He has secured over £5m in grant funding for clients and former employers across Innovate UK, DfT, ESA, Advanced Propulsion Centre, BEIS, and SBRI. He has also won £1m+ of commercial tenders from IFIs such as the IFC, EBRD, African Development Bank, and UNIDO.

David's career has focussed on cleantech and deeptech across varying stages of the innovation lifecycle, ranging from a scaleup (powerPerfector, #9 on 2009's Fast Track 100) and a corporate spinout (Agile Charging) to startups as an investor, team member and founder.
