Scotland Women in Tech (SWiT) is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for women in the technology sector. Techscaler Highlands & Islands shares this mission, supporting the tech community across the region and creating opportunities for connection, collaboration and growth.
The Highlands and Islands have a growing tech presence, yet professionals in the sector can often feel isolated, as many meet-ups and events are centred in the Central Belt. By establishing an ongoing series of SWiT meet-ups, we aim to connect women working in tech across the region, providing them with valuable opportunities to share their experiences, present their work and support one another.
For our next meet-up, our session will be titled Digital in the Wild: Stories from the Edge of Innovation, a unique online event that celebrates innovation beyond the traditional tech hubs. By taking this event online, we can connect people from across the region and beyond, making it easier for those in remote areas to share their stories, exchange ideas and inspire others.
This session will spotlight women applying digital skills in rural, remote or nature-connected contexts. From conservationists using mapping tools to start-up founders building products from crofts, Digital in the Wild will showcase creative problem-solving grounded in place and highlight how technology can thrive in environments often overlooked in mainstream innovation conversations.
This event will be taking place on Zoom. You can join a Zoom meeting from a desktop or mobile device. It is recommended to download the Zoom app prior to joining the event: https://zoom.us/support/download.
Once you have registered to attend you will receive confirmation of your ticket. You will receive an email reminder prior to the event starting: it includes the link to join the event. At any point, you can also access the link to join via the dedicated Eventbrite Online Page linked to your ticket.
As places are limited, please only register once.

Scotland Women in Technology (SWiT), exists to Champion, Celebrate, and Invest in women in the technology ecosystem within Scotland.
Founded in 2008, SWiT is a not-for-profit organisation with a drive to put gender equality at the forefront of the technology ecosystem. It is run by a board of committed volunteers who have the vision and alignment to promote and champion gender equality at the heart of our proposition.
Championing diversity and gender equality in the technology sector, both now and for future generations, is a key priority for SWiT. They want to help shine a spotlight on some of Scotland’s most inspirational female technology leaders, whilst retaining the talent and encouraging more young women to pursue a career in technology and innovation.
As a non-for-profit, they are proud to be the oldest women in tech network in Scotland. They don't believe there should be barriers to entry for this industry and therefore believe in giving back to the women tech community in Scotland. SWiT are vendor agnostic and will therefore collaborate with anyone as long as they match our ethics and values. We lead with our ethics and values of gender equality and inclusion by offering support to women in the tech ecosystem in Scotland through active mentoring, workshops, events and webinars.
