Description

Cybersecurity and data protection are becoming increasingly tied to funding, compliance, and organizational credibility. In this session, we’ll explore how evolving requirements—from regional privacy laws to stricter expectations around data governance, consent, and accountability—are reshaping what NGOs need to do to protect communities and remain eligible for support.

Our speaker, Andrés Rengifo, brings deep expertise in technology policy, legal affairs, and regulatory strategy across Latin America, and will help unpack what these shifts mean in practice for nonprofit organizations.

This session is designed for nonprofit leaders, legal and operations teams, and anyone responsible for managing data, compliance, and organizational risk. Brazil’s LGPD and Colombia’s Law 1581 both regulate personal data processing, while Chile’s new personal data law was published in December 2024 and is scheduled to become fully effective in December 2026, making this a particularly timely moment for organizations working across the region.
