Training for anyone in the West Midlands wanting to know what the Victims Code means for all communities and people.
Simon Foster, the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, has launched the Victims’ Code Innovation Fund: Know Your Rights West Midlands 2026–27 to ensure victims receive the rights and services they are entitled to.
As part of the Innovation Fund RSVP (Rape & Sexual Violence Project) are delivering sessions around The Victims’ Code, its 12 key rights, what they mean for victims and organisations who support and deliver services.
This session will look at your rights as a victim under the Victims Code and is open to anyone who lives, works or supports in the West Midlands.
What the session will include:
• Each of the key rights explained.
• How you can expect to be treated?
• Resident status discussed.
• Support for witnesses.
• Your right to be protected.
• Who is responsible for meeting the Rights under the Code?
• Local and national support.
Support resources will be forwarded to each attendee after the session and there will be the opportunity to join other sessions to become a Community Champion or learn about your duties as an organisation.
