Description

Artificial Intelligence is transforming industries, changing not only how businesses operate but also the skills employers value. While some roles are evolving rapidly and new opportunities are emerging, many students and graduates are left wondering how AI will impact their careers and what they should be doing today to remain competitive in tomorrow's job market.

In this session, Devika Ghosal, AI Consultant at Northern Trust will explore how AI is reshaping employment across industries. Drawing from her experience advising global organisations on AI strategy and digital transformation, she'll share practical insights into the future of work, the changing expectations of employers, and how graduates can position themselves for long-term success.

Whether you're choosing a career path, preparing for internships, or getting ready to enter the workforce, this session will help you understand where opportunities are growing, which skills will remain valuable, and how to adapt to an AI-driven world. There will also be a live Q&A where you can ask questions and receive practical advice on preparing for the future of work.

You'll gain practical insights into:

  • How AI is changing the global job market across different industries

  • Which careers are evolving, emerging, or becoming increasingly automated

  • The skills employers will value most in an AI-powered workplace

  • Why human skills such as critical thinking, communication, and leadership are becoming even more important

  • How students can use AI responsibly to improve learning and productivity

  • Preparing your career for jobs that may not exist today

  • Building a future-proof profile through continuous learning and adaptability

  • Common misconceptions about AI replacing jobs

  • Practical steps to stay competitive throughout your career

  • What graduates should be doing today to succeed in the future of work

The session will conclude with a live Q&A where you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and receive honest advice about AI, careers, future job opportunities, and building long-term employability in a rapidly changing world.
