The Toronto chapter of Women in Big Data is proud to collaborate with the Women in Data Science to bring you this exciting event! Join us for a combination of technical and career presentations from two excellent data science practitioners.

Talk #1: Insights of climate changes from the Common Era: An artificial intelligence view

In this talk, Jianghao Wang (Data Scientist, Mathworks) will demonstrate how climate scientists use statistical and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to study global temperature changes of the Common Era (the past 2,000 years). The studies shed light on the evidence of anthropogenic global warming during the twentieth century.

Talk #2: From data scientist to AI product management

In this talk, Mehrsa Golestaneh (Senior Product Manager, Microsoft) will share her career journey from data science to AI product management, and how her data science background is helping her to be a more effective product manager. Throughout the talk, Mehrsa will explore some of the key roles and responsibilities of an AI product manager, alongside best practices that help drive an AI product from zero to launch.
