Quality Assurance Engineer II (Senior)

Quality Assurance Engineers design, develop, and maintain automated testing for Neon One products. They oversee the software quality control processes for Neon’s web applications, iOS/Android apps, APIs, and third-party integrations . Using both automated testing and manual testing to identify possible technical problems in a staging environment, creating reports regarding software bugs, and recommending changes to the development team prior to a release.
The Exciting Part (Your 80s: 80% of your creative focus):

Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated testing and manual test plans to achieve ongoing coverage of the application.

Ability to measure results of automated tests and determine where improvements might be needed.

Conduct ongoing acceptance testing for feature upgrades and bug fixes to ensure the application is functioning as expected and changes have been applied correctly.

Maintain existing end-to-end test scripts in order to keep them up to date in regards to feature improvements and/or deprecation as well as the inclusion of any critical bug fixes.

Verify all reported bugs and work with the Product Owner and team to prioritize them in the backlog.

Report test result findings and work alongside Software Engineers to understand and rectify issues.

Enforce established quality standards for the product and partnerships, driving adoption of ongoing improvements to help reduce defects and streamline the process of delivering code.

Proactively assess and create test plans for new features, as well as writing fix summaries on all features and bugs that are completed by the team.

Liaise with Support via tickets submitted through Jira and Slack channels to ensure reported issues are correctly submitted and can be understood by the team.

Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Designers, and other engineers to refine specifications for work to be done.

Maintain and update test databases and staging environments, adding/removing users to/from testing environments as needed.

Troubleshoot and address software deficiencies when they arise, seeking to continuously optimize testing for breadth, redundancy, and performance.
The Expected Part (Your 20s: role responsibilities and opportunities to enhance)

Operate as a Subject Matter Expert on your particular product for internal departments seeking guidance in writing guides or supporting materials.

Support the writing of Release Notes and additional documentation to coincide with each release.

Maintain documentation related to testing, templates, and internal support guides as needed.

Work alongside the entire QA team to ensure alignment in process and quality.
Should Have:

Experience testing a B2B application and proven ability to write automated tests in Cypress.
