At Guild, we uphold our Core Values in everything we do.  Our team emphasizes our Core Values in the following ways:
  • Nurture A Learner’s Mindset - using a combination of feedback and reflection to gain productive insight into personal strengths and development areas
  • Build Shared Success - building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Be an Owner - holding self and others accountable to meet commitments
  • Create Belonging - recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to our company

Guild is hiring a Principal Product Manager to join our small and scrappy Product Expansion team. In this role, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of builders (Engineers, Designers, PMs and Operators) to act as a founder of a new product, identifying, prototyping and delivering new products for Guild’s users, with the team goal of accelerating Guild’s mission and expanding Guild’s market. This team is singularly focused on this goal and staffed with all the resources we need to bring new products alive.

If you have previously been a founder, or are looking to found a company in the future, this is a great role for you to learn more and hone your skill sets.

This role will be focused on bringing new products through the full product launch lifecycle, from initial discovery and prototyping to well past launch. You will design and lead product decisions and delivery, defining and monitoring performance, and making recommendations for well-informed decisions, pivots, and iterations as needed - including scaling success, when we find it.

As a Principal Product Manager, Product Expansion you will:

Lead the launch of a new product from nothing to something, ensuring the product solves a real and important problem, in partnership with your design, engineering and GTM counterparts. Creating things from zero is hard and messy; it is also energizing and exciting, and this role will be the glue that enables new products to come to life during their initial, fragile stage.

To do this, we expect you to:

  • Act as the product person accountable for the end to end product development lifecycle. This starts with deeply understanding the problem space, to solution definition and demand capture and ends when we successfully solve that problem in the market.
  • Excitedly wear a lot of different hats, in partnership with your key operations counterpart (we call this role the “Launcher”) and product marketing manager.
  • Be the first (and loudest) advocate for this product, internally and externally. This will involve everything from pushing for focus on the right parts of the product with our team and communicating the impact and opportunity to the rest of Guild to being “on the road” selling to the initial alpha and beta customers alongside team leadership.

You are a strong fit for this role if you are:

A former startup founder or have similar experience at a company with a scope of responsibility launching new products or business lines and demonstrated success taking those companies or products from zero to something. You’ve likely worn a few hats through that lifecycle, from founder to product manager (or equivalent role such as engineer or designer) to product leader.

Expected Skills and Competencies

  • Obsession with building great, simple products for your users that solve complex problems
  • An unrelenting growth mindset, with a strong confidence in your ability to rapidly teach yourself and your team new things
  • Situational adaptability, including thriving in ambiguity and capable of juggling multiple competing priorities
  • A full suite of early-stage product skills from the development of user stories and translating business requirements up to delivering clear, coherent market plans and product strategy.
  • Passion about Guild’s mission, with an existing working knowledge of the education and future of work spaces
  • Effective, concise storytelling and communication skills, with the ability and desire to own relationships from senior client stakeholders to internal support specialists.
  • Well-grounded in financial and operating frameworks with experience crafting and implementing simple, functional operating processes and understanding key metrics and business drivers in a high-growth venture backed company

This role will require fairly significant in-person engagement, both with teams based in Denver and with external partners. Candidates should be willing to travel, potentially as frequently as monthly, if not based in Denver.

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $190,000- $235,000, variable compensation, as well as company stock options.
