Who We’re Looking For: 

We are searching for a passionate Senior Product Manager- Payments who will help us continue to grow and improve our platform; you’re someone who loves to learn a product inside and out and gain a deep understanding of not only the product but of the end-user experience as well as the competitive landscape. You’re an incredibly organized person who can seamlessly manage various ongoing projects, and you’ll play an active role in helping communicate new features through demos and training. 

You will be the principal product manager on a brand new payments product that unlocks the next level of ParentSquare’s growth. You will be chiefly responsible for developing the product roadmap and executing against it to create an industry-leading payments platform. This role will take a product from 0-1, and then scale the product to our ~20M families. This role requires a high degree of entrepreneurialism and the ability to “get in the weeds”, while also being able to think strategically at a high-level about product direction. You will be creating a product purchased by school administrators and officials, but used by staff and parents throughout the district. As a member of a rapidly growing team, you aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and help scale into the growth that's at our fingertips. Most importantly you share in our mission to improve the lives of students. This role will be specifically focused on building out ParentSquare’s new, flagship payments product, designed to simplify and manage the transactions from parents to schools.

This Role Will Include: 

  • Product Development 

    • Taking the current payments product and expanding it and associated back-end features (e.g. permissioning, reporting) to fit specific, school needs

    • Building new front-end consumer (parent) payment methods (e.g. payment dashboards, payment links in messaging, and payments in posts)

    • Getting into the mind of school staff members and building an industry defining “payment request” mechanism to easily solicit payments from parents for any and all school needs (e.g. field-trips)

    • Developing mechanisms to convert teachers and staff members to issue payment requests through the new ParentSquare payments module

    • Developing methods to reach parents and guardians and convert them to the ParentSquare payments module, both on and off platform

    • Building back-end reporting to fit different stakeholder groups (e.g. administrators, staff members, business departments)

    • Identifying and filling payments product gaps with solutions that grow market share, improve customer experience, increase profitability and drive growth

    • Building user experiences to fit mobile app, desktop access, web-browser, and offline interactions

    • Integrating ParentSquare and payments into different school SIS’ (student information systems) for data unification, and ease of reconciliation and reporting 

  • Product Feedback

    • Working with customers to gather insights and directly translate their needs into product capabilities, ensuring product - market fit

    • Working with leadership, sales and customer success teams to gather insights, refine market fit and validate stakeholder benefits

    • Conducting demos and training for tech, sales and customer success teams

    • Interviewing customers to solicit feedback on company products and services

    • Acting as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding

    • Creating buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners

    • Driving payments product launch including working with marketing team, customer success, sales, and other team members

  • Exhibiting strong leadership and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations

Our Ideal Candidate will have: 

  • 5-7 years of Product Management experience within SaaS

  • Experience working with B2C consumer payment methods, B2B2C SaaS products, and designing intuitive user experiences

  • Payments product experience, ideally working with Stripe

  • Experience working in K-12 educational technology, ideally producing SaaS for school administrators and officials

  • Proven work experience in product management

  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful SaaS product throughout its lifecycle

  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies

  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders from development, customer success, sales, marketing and leadership

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
