The BI & Analytics Systems Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the analytics and reporting systems and tools utilized by IEHP and BI & Analytics department are complete, updated timely, and accurate.  In this capacity, the role is to enforce established standard work for the team so that they may deliver quality and timely deliverables to requesting departments.  Develop and manage the business intelligence team, providing insight, and aiding in business decision-making. Plans projects to produce reports and perform meaningful quantitative or qualitative analyses addressing impactful business issues or questions. Duties may include assessing company needs, gathering information, and reporting on industry trends to the rest of management. Analytics and business intelligence (ABI) includes the applications, infrastructure and tools, and best practices that enable access to and analysis of information to improve and optimize decisions and performance. In this role the Supervisor, Bi & Analytics will establish and maintain the stages of business intelligence including data sourcing, data analysis, situation awareness, decision making, and decision support. This role will also oversee complex reporting, analysis, monitoring, predicting & forecasting, and predictive modeling. The role is expected to develop, coach and mentor developers with empathy helping them advance in their careers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure complete, timely and accurate reporting to support IEHP’s reporting needs.
2. Work with other IEHP departments in developing and implementing self-service reporting tools to support each functional area.
3. Manage and further develop on existing and new analytics solutions to enable easy access to key data insights
4. Maintain a leadership role on a project, or integration, interacts with cross-functional teams at a high level to proactively determine programming tasks, manages timelines, assignments, and resource requirements
5. Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives and resource allocation to assist programming management.
6. Ensure reporting quality and accuracy by evaluating, integrating, complementing data sources
7. Enforce IEHP enterprise reporting and dashboard standards
8. Develop custom models based on in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business problems to ensure analytics deliverables meet business needs
9. Develop machine learning methods, including familiarity with techniques in clustering, regression, optimization, recommendation, neural networks, and other.
10. Own the vision and roadmap for the BI & Analytics Systems team
11. In partnership with Data leaders, inform architectural decisions, establish best practices, develop lean scalable processes, and contribute to the overall direction of the data organization at IEHP
12. Create novel and interpretable metrics to provide organizational insight and use analytics, modeling, and experimentation to understand their impact on business goals
13. Enforce standard work for the Bi & Analytics unit so that they may deliver quality and timely reporting deliverables to requesting departments.
14. Collaborate with other IEHP departments to assess and maintain the validity and integrity of internal data sources.
15. Identify areas for improvement, new analytical reporting, data mining products, and features that enable data-driven decision making for the organization.  Coordinate implementation and development of these products and encourage adoption to enhance reporting and analytic capabilities.
16. Manage the Bi & Analytics unit staff to ensure effective use of resources, high productivity, and high-quality output.
17. Demonstrate a commitment to support IEHP’s strategic priorities to become a 5-Star Health Plan and incorporate LEAN principles into daily work.
18. Availability to attend to technical issues outside of normal business hours.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Eight (8) years of experience with Enterprise grade Business Intelligence Solutions (i.e., PowerBI, MicroStrategy, COGNOS, or Business Objects). Experience with Data Discovery Tools (i.e., Tableau v8.x or higher, QlikView, MSTR Visual Insights). Foundational experience standard data integration tools. Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity required.
  • Experience with Talend (v5.4.2) or DataStage (v8.7) a plus. Experience with SQL Server 2012/14/16 or Netezza 7.x, Hadoop (Horton 2.2) a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Engineering from an accredited institution required.
  • Agile Certification (PMI-ACP or CSM) preferred. Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Knowledge of current business practices and computing systems, IT development methodologies and operations.
  • Knowledge of health payer data. Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM).
  • Excellent communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong logical reasoning skills and business intelligence.
  • Ability to present to senior management.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment with the willingness to listen to alternative points of view.

Work Model Location

This position is on a hybrid work schedule. (Mon & Fri - remote, Tues - Thurs onsite in Rancho Cucamonga, CA)

Pay Range

USD $65.00 - USD $86.12 /Hr.
