Frontend Web Developer Save

We are hiring a web developer who specializes in user experience design and frontend development. As an integral part of our web development team, the person in this role will help develop new web applications as well as enhance and support existing ones.

January Advisors is a data science consulting firm that works with public and nonprofit sector clients. We build web applications that help people use data to clear their criminal record, track evictions, tackle air pollution problems, and much more.

We are fortunate to work on projects at the forefront of policy, data, and technology innovation, and we do it in partnership with communities across the United States.

Job responsibilities:

• Participate in all aspects of web development including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and support.
• Lead frontend design and development for new applications.
• Improve design and functionality for existing applications.
• Lead user experience design projects across the company.
• Contribute to a variety of ad-hoc tasks such as new technology exploration, data pipeline development, and graphic design.

Skills required:

• Ability to write understandable, testable, reliable, and maintainable code.
• Demonstrated ability to pick up new concepts and technical skills quickly.

Experience:

• 2+ years experience building applications using React.
• Experience in UI/UX or design.
• Experience working directly with clients or SMEs on web development projects.
• Experience working on a cross-functional team.

Compensation and benefits:

• $85,000 – $100,000 (salary + bonus)
• Fully remote
• ~35 hour work week
