Food & Water Watch is looking for a Salesforce Solutions Manager to join our Technology team to help grow and develop our Salesforce environment. The Salesforce Solutions Manager will work closely with the IT Director, Jr. Salesforce System Administrator, and Data Analyst to support our technology endeavors, and the staff at Food & Water Watch.

About the position:

The Salesforce Solutions Manager will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing Food & Water Watch/Food & Water Action’s (FWW/FWA) Salesforce environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Salesforce development, data management, and systems integrations. This role also supports and maintains Salesforce specific applications (Apsona, ElementsCloud, Cloudingo), as well as integrations with third-party applications/systems such as Tableau, EngagingNetworks, and ActBlue. This role will provide technical support and development to our Salesforce environment ensuring it aligns with and meets FWW/FWA’s business requirements as well as modern information security standards and best practices.

Salary: $81,800 – $100,000
Location: Remote in the US 

Responsibilities:

1. Custom Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom solutions within Salesforce using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning components.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Create and maintain triggers, workflows, and process builder flows.

2. Supervise Data Analyst:

  • Responsible for growing and developing Reporting capabilities including current Data Analyst Position

3. Integration and Data Management:

  • Manage integrating Salesforce with other systems (both internal and external).
  • Plan and execute data migrations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Responsible for maintaining the functional areas of data management, accounts, contacts, leads, campaigns, donations, dashboards and reports etc. for the platform.
  • Monitor and optimize data flows between Salesforce and connected applications.

4. Third-Party Management:

  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain third-party applications that enhance Salesforce functionality.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manage app installations, upgrades, and licenses.
  • Main liaison between Salesforce and associated third-party vendors and consultants (Engaging Networks, Abstrakt, TMC, etc.) and associated third-party application vendors (ElementsCloud, ELTON, Apsona, FormAssembly, etc.).

5. Digital Marketing 

  • Develop and implement database marketing strategies and campaigns to increase customer engagement and retention.
  • Create and maintain customer databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.
  • Analyze member data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform marketing initiatives.
  • Segment members based on demographics, behavior, and donating patterns to optimize targeting and messaging.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developing, organizing, and IT, to execute campaigns and achieve business objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and tactics.

6. Documentation and Collaboration:

  • Maintain and develop current and new documentation according to system setups, business policies, processes, and procedures. 
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Salesforce features and functionality.
  • Work closely with internal departments and external business partners to maintain and enhance the Salesforce platform’s capabilities.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams that address strategic organizational issues involving Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) and integrated applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Salesforce Experience:
    • Experience with NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack) configuration and best practices required.
    • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Developer.
    • Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, and other Salesforce technologies.
    • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I, Administrator) preferred.
  • Commitment to Food & Water Watch’s core values of justice, human dignity, fair treatment, and equity.
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse racial, ethnic, class, age, gender, and sexual orientation backgrounds.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects.
  • Ability to work remotely using basic online programs, including email, Slack, and Google docs.

Desired but not required skills and experience:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
    • Knowledge of data modeling, integration patterns, and REST/SOAP APIs.
    • Experience with SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and version control.
    • Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality preferred.
    • Strong understanding of NIST CSF and ISO 27001
    • Engaging networks knowledge is a plus. 

Compensation: $81,800 – $100,000 annually dependent upon experience and location.

Food & Water Watch provides an excellent benefits package for full-time employees. This includes 100% employer-paid health, dental and vision plans for staff; 403b retirement plans with employer contribution once eligible; 12 weeks paid parental leave; 3 weeks vacation for new employees; 12 sick days and 5 personal days; paid federal holidays and winter break (December 24 – January 1).
