Then wait in a room solely designed for waiting. Then wait for a surprise bill. In any other consumer industry, the companies delivering such a poor customer experience would not survive. But in healthcare, patients lack market power. Which means they are expected to accept the unacceptable.
Zocdoc’s mission is to give power to the patient. To do that, we’ve built the leading healthcare marketplace that makes it easy to find and book in-person or virtual care in all 50 states, across +200 specialties and +12k insurance plans. By giving patients the ability to see and choose, we give them power. In doing so, we can make healthcare work like every other consumer sector, where businesses compete for customers, not the other way around. In time, this will drive quality up and prices down.

At Zocdoc we’re building the best experience for millions of patients to find a great doctor, and more than a hundred thousand providers to grow their practices. As Director of Product, you’ll drive strategy, define success and lead a group of product managers who make this happen.

Your day to day is…
- Defining and communicating a strong, clear vision for your product area
- Recruiting, leading, mentoring, and developing a team of world-class product managers to build and execute against your collective vision
- Collaborating and communicating clearly with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Marketing, BI, Sales, BD, and Business Operations to influence outcomes
- Owning and driving key business metrics such as revenue, user growth, engagement, etc.
- Implementing best-in-class product development and management practices to ensure team success
- Creating and launching healthcare-changing products and features to better help patients and providers connect
You’ll be successful in this role if you have…
- 10+ years of product experience, ideally with B2B SaaS or marketplace products
- 3+ years of proven management experience in recruiting, leading and developing a team of great product managers, ideally in organizations with multiple layers
- Demonstrated experience successfully owning objective improvements in key business metrics metrics
- Action-oriented attitude and roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across diverse teams, including engineers, designers, marketers, and executives
- Analytical horsepower and a natural curiosity to solve some of healthcare’s most challenging problems
- A strategic thinker with a customer focused mindset, and the ability to leverage qualitative and quantitative insights to set strategy and iterate on products
