Position Summary:

The IT Director is responsible for  providing leadership from a strategic, operational and technical standpoint to the LACI team and Campus Operations. This encompasses overseeing, with some staff and outside consultant support,  all aspects of enterprise technology including: IT administration, IT architecture, equipment, software licensing, facility software and hardware needs, helpdesk support, AV support, staff onboarding/offboarding support, training, tech security and long-term IT strategy.   

A key priority for this role is to oversee the continued roll out and integrations of Salesforce, Asana, FormAssembly, and other software to support LACI’s 2028 Impact Goals.  This will include collaborating with leadership and department leads to design  specific software project scopes,  issuing RFPs for software  implementation / integration consultants, training LACI team members on new software and processes,  and ensuring project costs  stay  within budget.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Software Integrations to support our Impact 2028 Goals:  Provide strategic vision and project management oversight for org-wide software implementations and integrations that enable streamlined project management, data collection and data reporting.  Experience with Salesforce and the ability to effectively source and manage software integration experts are critical.
  • Software Application  Administration: Manage licenses (renewal, seat allocations, and updates/patches) of all cloud-based software including Salesforce, GSuite, Zoom, Adobe, Slack, Asana, OfficeRnD, as well as on-premises server-based applications such as the building access systems.  Manage the technology needs and relationship with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and LACI’s role managing the LaKretz Innovation Campus  infrastructure such as building access controls, wifi access points, broadband/fiber, visitor management systems, HVAC controls, security system back up, etc.
  • Equipment/Hardware: Direct the planning, budgeting,  procurement, and deployment of equipment for LACI staff including servers, workstations, and other equipment, as well as campus technology equipment such as AV, security cameras, control servers, etc.
  • Helpdesk/Tech Issues: Implement and manage remote access to employee workstations in order to diagnose issues and  implement resolutions in a timely manner.  Monitor the availability and reliability of the LKIC/LACI technology infrastructure and  identify opportunities for optimization . Managing new member and employee experience with technology orientation, process, and best practices including training, security awareness, etc.
  • Vendor Management: Serve as lead and main point of contact for any IT contractor to develop partnerships with tech vendors to complete a needs assessment including large-scale strategic projects and upgrades to systems and equipment as well as installations. .  Source third-party experts in analyzing and modifying including integrations and customizations of key software systems such as Salesforce.
  • Campus Technology Management/Events Support: Oversee overall technical needs of events on campus as well as supporting remote tech needs such as virtual meetings, conferencing (Zoom) and events. Manage Audio and Visual assets and support with events and conference room bookings. Oversee management of campus systems including REMO, Office RND, key cards, email distribution lists, printers, and others as needed.

Requirements:

Basically, we want to know you can get the job done. This means you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or comparable work experience.
  • Experience supporting Salesforce implementation, integrations  and update
  • Experience leading an Information Technology function in small business with at least 3-5 years experience in network and technology support.
  • Technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, GSuite, Salesforce.
  • Expert knowledge of the operation of Microsoft and Apple based business applications and operating systems
  • Knowledge  of data networking principles and architecture
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users, including non-technical users
  • GSuite, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce Admin (ADM201 and ADM211) certified preferred 

Work Requirements

  • Must work in Downtown LA Office five days a week
  • Ability to have an active role in events on campus, some events may require the ability to stand for long periods of time, set up/break-down, and other requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs

Position Details:

This is a full-time position, starting immediately. LACI operates out of the La Kretz Innovation Campus, in the bustling Downtown LA Arts District. Since we are rapidly growing, you will be getting in on the ground floor at LACI, with the opportunity to evolve with us and shape your future here. Some travel may be required.

Salary Range: Director Range $88-109k commensurate with experience, education, skills, etc and total compensation package including health benefits, 401k match, professional development, commuter benefits and more.
