Summary
The Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI) is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and versatile Research Associate to support our team in managing all aspects of research coordination, data management, and compliance. This role involves overseeing data collection for survey-based research studies, building and distributing surveys, and conducting and coding user interviews. You will handle participant recruitment, communications, and compensation while ensuring ethical compliance, timely payments, and careful tracking. Additionally, this role requires managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols and assisting with writing, editing, and literature reviews. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with data management tools (Excel, Google Sheets, R) and have strong writing and organizational skills.
This is a fully remote position, though it will require travel approximately twice a year for CDI’s team gatherings.
Responsibilities
Research Coordination and Data Management (75%):

Build and distribute surveys using tools like Alchemer and Typeform.

Track and report on study progress.

Handle data organization, cleaning, and preparation for analysis using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or R.

Coordinate participant compensation using Tremendous and address payment-related inquiries.

Send study emails and reminders, answer participant questions.
Writing, Editing, and Literature Reviews (15%):

Support the drafting of research reports, manuscripts, grant proposals, and presentations.

With support of research scientists, conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings to support ongoing projects.

Assist members of the research team with preparing white papers, slide decks, documentation, and academic manuscripts.
Compliance and Protocols (10%):

Assist with IRB protocol submission and maintain adherence to ethical guidelines.

Monitor compliance with IRB-approved protocols and maintain documentation.

Compensation: $65,000-$75,000
Job requirements
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Data Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Factors, or a related field

At least 1 year of experience managing research studies, distributing surveys, and conducting research interviews

Familiarity with participant recruitment and compensation management.

Strong writing and editing skills, with experience in literature reviews

Strong oral communication and organizational skills

Proficiency in online survey platforms (e.g. Qualtrics, Alchemer, Google Forms), Google Suite, and Microsoft Office

Experience with data management and cleaning practices

Familiarity with IRB protocol submission and ethical research standards

Strong organizational skills
