General Summary
Data Analysts at Urban3 play a crucial role in supporting our projects by utilizing expertise in data analysis, GIS, and urban planning. Responsibilities include working with city/county parcel and assessment data in GIS, conducting fiscal impact analyses, and creating data visualizations. This position requires a strong background in urban planning, excellent communication skills, proficiency in various software tools, and the ability to meet firm deadlines. In addition to general analyst duties of studying a place, diving into data, analyzing, and visually communicating findings, advanced experience can include supervising the Analyst 1 and GIS Tech roles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts analytics and create graphics to evaluate and communicate local financial and physical reality
- Produce high quality written, visual, and data results for communities
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as ESRI GIS, data visualization, and statistical analysis software
- Strong expertise in urban planning, economic analysis, and data interpretation
- Analytical mindset with the ability to dissect complex problems and communicate solutions
- Ability to use creativity in problem solving and communication
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Business, Urban Planning, Economics, Geography, or a related field; or
- Bachelor's degree + 1 year experience in urban planning, civic economics, or a related analytical role.
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, economic modeling, and spatial analysis.
- Familiarity with relevant industry software and tools i.e. R code, python, keynote, excel, google tools, other data management and visualization tools.
