The Head of IT is responsible for overseeing the organization’s information technology strategy and cybersecurity posture. This dual role ensures that IT infrastructure supports business goals while maintaining a strong security framework to protect company assets, data, and systems. This leader will drive IT operations, cloud strategy, security compliance, risk management, and incident response while aligning IT and security initiatives with business objectives.

Responsibilities
- IT Leadership & Strategy
- Execute an IT strategy that supports business growth, operational efficiency, and scalability.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, network architecture, software systems, and enterprise applications.
- Lead IT service management, ensuring reliable performance, uptime, and internal support.
- Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement processes.
- Optimize cloud and on-premises infrastructure to balance security, cost, and performance.
- Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Define and implement an enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy.
- Establish a Zero Trust security model, enforce strong identity and access management, and manage endpoint security.
- Oversee compliance with industry regulations (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
- Lead risk assessments, vulnerability management, and security audits.
- Develop and test incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.
- Governance, Compliance & Executive Reporting
- Create IT and security policies, standards, and best practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead security awareness training programs to strengthen a culture of security.
- Provide security and IT performance reports to the executive team and board.
- Ensure alignment between IT, security, legal, compliance, and business leadership.
- Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build and mentor a high-performing IT and security team.
- Partner with engineering, product, and operations teams to embed security into development and business processes.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to mitigate security risks and maintain regulatory adherence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in IT leadership and cybersecurity.
- Proven track record of managing IT infrastructure, cloud environments, and enterprise security programs.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001) and compliance standards.
- Experience leading incident response, penetration testing, and security audits.
- Expertise in network security, identity & access management (IAM), and data protection strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Work authorized in the United States and native or bilingual English proficiency
- Please note that members of this team who live within 45 minutes of a Charlie Health office are expected to adhere to a hybrid work schedule.

The total target base compensation for this role will be between $194,000 and $260,000 per year at the commencement of employment. In addition to base compensation, this role offers a target performance-based bonus. The target total cash compensation range, including potential bonus, will be between $213,000 and $312,000 per year. Please note, pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location, experience, expertise, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Further, cash compensation is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits. #LI-HYBRID
