Program Manager, Lantern

Remote (US-Based)

Background

Since 2006, the Tech Coalition has been uniting leading global tech firms to protect children from online sexual exploitation and abuse.  Relaunched in 2020, the TC is a rapidly growing coalition of over 50 tech companies, including Google, Meta, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and Sony, that have made a mutual commitment to support and collaborate for the purpose of eradicating online child sexual exploitation and abuse. We have combined forces to accelerate the technological innovations that will keep children safe, facilitate information and knowledge sharing amongst our members, advance meaningful dialogue between industry and the broader child protection community, drive industry transparency and accountability, and fund independent research.

Tech Coalition Employee Core Values

The Tech Coalition seeks to create the optimal conditions for each team member to make their best contribution to the mission. At the heart of this are four core values we expect all team members to exemplify. We are:

  • Committed to one another and to the mission. We dig in and get it done. We own the whole mission. We help and support one another and are accountable for our actions and results.
  • Capable of purposeful and thoughtful leadership. We are resourceful, well-prepared, organized, and responsible. We are well-informed and we execute with excellence.
  • Creative in our approach to our mission. We are thoughtful, agile, and innovative. We seek out new and better ways forward. We bring new perspectives to solve old and new problems. We have lots of ideas.
  • Kind humans. We are friendly, generous, helpful, and considerate.

The Role

The Program Manager will lead the day-to-day operations and overall engagement strategy for Lantern, the industry’s first cross-platform signal-sharing program focused on combating OCSEA. In this role, you will work with trust and safety investigators, engineers, legal experts, and policy teams to onboard new partners, promote effective signal use, increase the quality and frequency of uploads, and oversee operational workflows that lead to meaningful outcomes.

This is a highly collaborative role requiring the ability to facilitate working groups, conduct trainings, and develop clear program documentation. The ideal candidate brings strong coordination and communication skills, along with a strategic lens toward privacy, human rights, and operational impact. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-moving, startup-style environment and skilled at identifying gaps and creating solutions that strengthen Lantern’s impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Lantern participants, supporting onboarding, engagement, and effective platform use
  • Facilitate working group conversations with representatives from diverse participating companies to drive actionable knowledge sharing and strengthen collective response
  • Manage daily program operations and communication, including scheduling, documentation, internal process updates, and reporting
  • Work closely with technical partners to ensure platform features align with user needs and detection goals
  • Identify and surface cross-platform OCSEA threats and help coordinate collaborative responses within Lantern’s framework
  • Support program growth by identifying and onboarding high-value participants securely
  • Contribute to Lantern’s vision and roadmap, including feature development, identifying new markets or types of companies to participate, and user research
  • Collaborate with legal and human rights advisors to implement ethical oversight procedures that uphold fundamental rights
  • Maintain reports and summaries that clearly communicate complex data and program activity to stakeholders
  • Partner with the Tech Innovation Lead to implement strategic decisions and refine the program to maximize measurable impact and long-term sustainability

Minimum Qualifications:

An ideal candidate will bring a mix of program management, relationship-building, and cross-functional coordination skills, with an understanding of the trust and safety or child protection landscape. Success in this role requires clarity in communication, discretion in managing sensitive issues, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • 5+ years of experience in program management, operations, management consulting, or a related environment
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic direction into programmatic offerings, workflows, and outcomes
  • Experience identifying programmatic gaps and developing solutions in ambiguous or evolving contexts
  • Skilled in collaborating with technical stakeholders and translating across policy, operational, and engineering domains
  • Familiarity with trust and safety practices, challenges, and operations within tech platforms
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to facilitate cross-functional working groups
  • Interest in child safety, digital rights, and privacy as they relate to combatting OCSEA
  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Workspace tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to generate evidence-based insights
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working in a lean, mission-driven organization

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Experience with SQL, Python, or data analytics
  • Previous experience in or knowledge of OCSEA detection or child safety
  • Background in OSINT, investigations, or threat intelligence
  • Experience in public speaking, training facilitation, or presenting to cross-functional stakeholders

Location: Remote (US-based; EST preferred)

Travel: Occasional (quarterly)

Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000 base salary + annual bonus based on performance

Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) plan with employer match; generous PTO and remote-first flexibility

To Apply: Please send a cover letter and resume to [email protected]. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
