You will be part of the Payments Engineering Team. We are responsible for the financial side of employer sponsored health benefits. We build apps and services to handle the entire process, from invoicing to auditing to payments. As an engineering team, we believe good code is easy to read and understand. We expect all of our engineers to continually teach as well as learn. As a full stack engineer, you'll be working with a talented team of engineers and product managers in all phases of the development process. What you'll do:
- Design and develop scalable, secure, and configurable platform services for the Cost Containment team.
- Lead full-stack development and support of services across backend (Java/Spring Cloud), integration platforms, and frontend (React/Angular/GraphQL etc.).
- Utilize working knowledge of AI-powered developer tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor) and actively contribute to AI adoption in development and operational aspects.
- Build and enrich APIs and data services to integrate with partners and our claims engine.
- Collaborate with product managers, operations analysts, and data teams in building solutions that leverage Business Rules Management Systems (BRMS) like Drools etc.
- Actively work with the operations team to create efficient processes through automations to improve SLAs.
- Understand architectural decisions and actively drive reusable patterns for cloud-native, AI-enabled backend systems.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Experience: 8+ years as a full-stack engineer.
- Full Stack Engineering: Strong proficiency in Java & Spring Cloud, with a deep understanding of microservices architecture. Proven experience building UI features using React/Angular with GraphQL.
- AI Tools: Regular use of AI-enhanced development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, WindSurf).
- Cloud: Extensive experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS/GCP preferred).
- Data: Hands-on experience in data architecture, SQL/PostgreSQL, and developing data-intensive services.
- Rules Engines: Experience in working with Business Rules Management Systems (BRMS) like Drools, Kogito etc.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills across all levels and teams.
- Systems Development: Prior experience in building, launching, and maintaining complex systems.
- Work Ethic: Balances efficiency with attention to detail.
- Teamwork: Enjoys collaborative work environments with supportive colleagues.
Pay Transparency Statement
This is a hybrid position based out of one of our offices: San Francisco, CA, Plano, TX, or Lehi, UT. Hybrid employees are expected to be in the office two days per week.#LI-hybrid
The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to the salary, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits like health insurance, 401k, and paid time off. $168,000 - $210,000 USD
Lehi, UT Pay Range
$134,500 - $168,000 USD
Plano, TX Pay Range
$147,800 - $185,500 USD
