The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for supporting EDF’s project management software (Asana), overseeing its business administration, and aiding EDF in harnessing its full potential. This position serves as an Asana subject matter expert and supports the usage and continued adoption of the tool. Additionally, the Senior Analyst supports the Project Management Center’s mission of promoting an organizationally cohesive project management approach and embedding best practices in EDF’s work. 

 

The Senior Business Analyst ensures staff effectively use project management software by providing technical assistance, training, and customer service. They are also responsible for creating customized solutions for complex processes and strategic initiatives, creating and maintaining technical documentation, and troubleshooting software issues with internal and external partners. The Senior Business Analyst reports to the Senior Manager, Technology and Solutions Projects. 

 

Location

This position is hybrid with the expectation of coming to the office two (2) days a week.

  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage and deliver the Asana software training program for staff members at all experience levels within EDF. 

  • Provide proactive and continuous support to staff members to ensure their effective use of Asana, offering guidance in resolving difficult issues and ensuring efficient adoption. 

  • Create, maintain, and regularly update comprehensive technical documentation, including user guides and training materials. 

  • Work within Asana and Zendesk to classify, prioritize, triage, and respond to day-to-day inquiries related to Asana. Update tickets with pertinent information and recommend appropriate solutions that align with organizational goals. Develop, test, and implement templates and workflows within Asana, incorporating project management best practices. 

  • Liaise directly with Asana Customer Service and IT to ensure resolution of all technical issues and requests and seamless integration of the tool within EDF’s technology ecosystem. 

  • Proactively research, monitor, assess, and incorporate Asana updates and changes, implement and communicate updates to staff. 

  • Partner across EDF to comprehend and document business processes and workflows, and to facilitate the development of technical solutions aligning with business needs. 

  • Analyze and evaluate staff utilization of software, provide feedback and recommendations on enhancing usage, adoption, and efficiency. 

  • Participate in advancing EDF’s organizational effectiveness and culture goals, in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges aligned with EDF values.     

  • Additional relevant responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Qualifications 

  • 4+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree required. A Master’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience. 

  • 2+ years of software implementation, training, and technical support experience required. 

  • 2+ years of experience with Asana or comparable Project Management software is required. 

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and leading software training and writing technical documentation. 

  • Demonstrated experience in providing tailored solutions for workflows, dashboards, and project management cases for large teams. 

  • Solid understanding and experience with project management practices and/or project management certification (PMP, CAPM, or similar). 

  • Experience in triage and prioritization of tickets, especially in a fast-paced and/or IT environment. 

  • Strong technical background, including experience with software integrations. 

  • Excellent research and analysis abilities. 

  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills, including the capacity to independently analyze information and evaluate solutions from a range of alternatives. 

  • Experience working with environmental or nonprofit organizations preferred. 

  • Proactive, responsive, attentive to detail, and adaptable. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate more complex subject matter effectively to various stakeholders. 

  • Strong customer service focus and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Demonstrated self-awareness, cultural competency, inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across all cultures and backgrounds.    

  • Works well independently as well as collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across multiple time zones.
