Senior DevOps Engineer
STATUS: Full time
LOCATION: Remote; work from anywhere within the United States
Are you looking to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure?
We seek a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in order to build, configure, and add tools to our CI/CD pipelines using Terraform. The Senior DevOps Engineer will set DevOps standards, mentor junior engineers, and partner across teams to enable high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Architecture and Automation Design
- Lead the implementation of scalable infrastructure in Azure using Terraform, following infrastructure-as-code and DevSecOps principles.
- Develop and maintain standardized, reusable modules for environment provisioning.
- Establish best practices for infrastructure management and environment consistency.
Pipeline Design and Release Automation
- Architect and build robust, reusable CI/CD pipelines that support multiple applications and deployment patterns.
- Drive automation of build, test, release, and rollback processes across environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement shift-left practices and improve delivery velocity.
Security and Identity Integration
- Lead SSO integration efforts using Okta, including setup of OIDC and SAML flows for client and internal authentication.
- Work with security and compliance teams to ensure cloud environments are secure and compliant.
- Define access controls, identity federation, and token management practices.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Serve as a technical leader in DevOps, influencing infrastructure design decisions and tooling strategy.
- Mentor and support junior DevOps engineers and developers in best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, software engineers, QA, and product managers.
Monitoring, Resilience, and Documentation
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies to support observability and incident response.
- Advocate for performance, reliability, and recovery practices in infrastructure design.
- Document infrastructure, processes, and standards to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
Our Compensation and Benefit Offerings
The national average salary for this position ranges between $115,000 and $120,000 per year. Compensation within this range is dependent on experience, parity with peers, and where an employee lives.

Who Should Apply to Evident Change?
Applicants with the following experience and skills will be considered as candidates for this role:
- 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering roles
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and Terraform
- Proven experience building complex CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of SSO protocols such as SAML, OpenID Connect, or SCIM, with authentication platforms like Okta (or similar)
- Solid understanding of networking, security, RBAC, and cloud architecture best practices
- Proficiency in a scripting language (Python, Bash, or PowerShell preferred) to enable automation and streamline infrastructure operations
Additional assets a candidate may possess include the following:
- Experience in multitenant cloud environments
- Familiarity with container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Experience with secrets management (Azure Key Vault, Vault)
- Background in compliance-driven environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2)
- Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-400, AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-500) (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree (preferred)
