Through AI-enabled, personalized career preparation and partnerships with top employers, we are accelerating the professional journey of thousands of first-gen students at 300 campuses…and counting! Basta participants are now thriving in their first jobs at Bloomberg, Snap Inc., Citi, DonorsChoose, and over 100 other companies.
Job Purpose & Impact
The Data & Analytics Manager will serve as a strategic partner to Basta’s teams by transforming complex data into actionable insights that advance our mission. In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between non-technical stakeholders and data-driven solutions, ensuring that every analysis, visualization, and data system you build directly informs program design, performance monitoring, and organizational decision-making. Your work will empower staff at all levels to ask the right questions, understand “why” behind the numbers, and ultimately drive better outcomes for our students and partners.
Location: NYC strongly preferred; remote eligible, ability to travel to NYC 4-6 times/year, required
Key Responsibilities
You will do this by:

- Developing Interactive Dashboards & Reports: Build and maintain self-service dashboards and automated reports (Metabase) tailored for diverse audiences, ensuring near real-time visibility into progress against goals and empowering stakeholders to act on insights.
- Ensuring Data Hygiene & Governance: Collaborate with program and operations teams to establish and enforce data governance standards and hygiene practices - defining naming conventions, validation rules, and access controls - while also supporting the development of data models and assisting with ETL workflows to maintain accuracy and reliability.
- Champion Continuous Improvement: Monitor analytics tool usage and feedback to iterate on processes, develop reusable templates and training, and foster a culture of data curiosity, ensuring our practices evolve with stakeholder needs and emerging best practices.
- Report on Impact & Outcomes: Track, monitor, and share meaningful impact metrics regularly; translate complex data and stakeholder feedback into clear, actionable recommendations; and work closely with the Development team to translate our impact and outcomes into compelling data for grant writing and reporting, ensuring funders clearly see the value and results of our work.
