IT Specialist
Protect Democracy · Remote (US)
Position Overview
Protect Democracy seeks an IT Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll support and improve upon the technology infrastructure that safeguards and enables our high-impact work defending democracy. You will collaborate closely with our IT Manager and our external Managed Service Provider (MSP) to administer, secure, and enhance our internal systems while also identifying opportunities for innovation and improved functionality.
At Protect Democracy, we anchor all of our work in service of a singular mission: to prevent American democracy from declining into a more authoritarian form of government. Our mission is non-partisan and it is our north star—whether tackling high-stakes litigation, policy advocacy, or ensuring our internal operations are equipped with secure, reliable, and impactful technology.
This role is ideal for an experienced, self-motivated IT professional with strong systems administration skills, a deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices, and a passion for optimizing internal systems and user experience. You’ll play a key role in ensuring a secure, efficient, and mission-motivated computing environment for a fully remote team. We strongly encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds and across the political and ideological spectrum to apply. The priority deadline to apply for this role is December 15, 2025. We anticipate beginning first-round interviews in early January. We will consider applicants from almost anywhere in the United States.* Final candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete a pre-offer background check.
