ABOUT THE ROLE
The Platform & Analytics Specialist helps power our rapid-cycle work to build solutions for Colorado kids and families. You’ll design and manage the systems, tools, and data workflows that support multiple projects, from early research to MVP testing. This role combines technical systems building, data analysis, and practical problem-solving, not traditional spreadsheet-only analytics. You’ll also work with sensitive family data, so strong data privacy and security practices are essential.
This position functions independently and does not have supervisory responsibility.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
System and Platform Management (40%)
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new platforms and tools that enhance team efficiency and enable AI-powered workflows
- Design and implement advanced workflows in HubSpot, Airtable, and other similar platforms to support venture operations
- Build secure integrations between tools to create seamless data flows across projects while maintaining data privacy protections
- Set up and configure systems for new ventures with appropriate access controls and security protocols, often on rapid timelines (2-3 week shallow investigations, 3-month prototypes)
- Implement and maintain data security measures across all platforms, including user permissions, data encryption, and secure data transfer protocols
- Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize platform configurations for team efficiency
- Maintain and document system architectures and data handling procedures as ventures evolve
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and Gary's data governance policies
Data Analysis and Program Evaluation (35%)
- Pull and prepare data for weekly team meetings and decision points while maintaining strict data privacy standards
- Analyze prototype and MVP data to validate/invalidate leap of faith assumptions
- Support completion of MVP scoring charts and vetting criteria assessments
- Create dashboards and visualizations that enable rapid interpretation of results without exposing sensitive PII
- Conduct customer interview analysis and qualitative data synthesis during shallow investigations
- Manage secure data collection, storage, and retention practices aligned with organizational policies
Operational Support and Data Governance (25%)
- Support the department in leveraging tools effectively and securely for their projects
- Design data collection approaches that balance analytical rigor with customer experience and data minimization principles
- Help translate venture hypotheses into measurable metrics and tracking systems with appropriate privacy safeguards
- Contribute to pre-project kick-offs and shallow investigation planning with data security considerations
- Document processes and create templates for recurring analytical needs, including data handling protocols
- Train team members on secure data practices and platform usage
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate will excel at both the data and technical systems sides of our work, someone who can build secure, efficient workflows across platforms like HubSpot, Airtable, Supabase, or Zapier, while also analyzing data to drive rapid learning and decision-making. The ideal person is skilled in integrations, automation, and data governance; comfortable working with sensitive information; and able to translate complex technical concepts for a fast-moving, cross-functional team.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Quickly spin up robust data collection and workflow systems for new prototypes without bottlenecks or security gaps
- All data is accessible to best-in-class AI tools, enabling us to execute and draw insights faster
- Data-driven decision points (shallow investigation → prototype → MVP → scale) are supported by clean, actionable analysis
- All community and participant data is handled securely with appropriate access controls and audit trails
- Tools and integrations work seamlessly while maintaining strict privacy protections
- Able to produce accurate and timely expected value calculations and impact metrics that are trusted by leadership
- Team members can effectively use platforms you've configured without extensive ongoing support, while following secure data practices
- We maintain community trust through responsible data stewardship
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with CRM/database platforms and data analysis
- Strongly Preferred: relevant certifications, such as HubSpot Platform Administrator/Developer certification, Salesforce Administrator certification, Data privacy/security certifications (CIPP, CIPM, or similar), and/or Google Analytics or similar analytics platform certifications
- Advanced degree in a relevant field (MPA, MPP, MS in Data Science, MBA with analytics focus) - Preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA, FERPA, or other data privacy regulations - preferred
- Experience with secure file transfer protocols and encryption methods - preferred
- Experience in nonprofit, social impact, or pilot program environments, handling vulnerable populations' data
- SQL or other database query experience
- Familiarity with program evaluation or impact measurement
- Background supporting lean startup methodologies or agile development
- Experience conducting or supporting data privacy impact assessments
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is based in our downtown Denver office at Union Station and operates within a professional business setting. The role frequently involves computer-based work, including the use of voice and video conferencing tools. It requires extended periods of sitting, computer use, and virtual communication.
