Product Manager / Product Designer
Data Management and Compliance, Inc. · Remote (US)
About the Role
As our Product Manager/Product Designer, you’ll own both the strategy and the design execution that translate intricate, highly regulated workflows into clear, concise and intelligent user experiences. You’ll combine product thinking, systems design, and visual clarity to make sophisticated processes feel quick and simple.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can move from high-level product decisions to detailed Figma prototypes — and who understands how to simplify without losing precision.
What You’ll Do
- Lead product discovery: map complicated user journeys, uncover friction points, and distill them into clear, actionable insights.
- Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into intuitive product flows that reduce cognitive load for users, including:
- Mapping multi-step regulatory processes,
- Designing tools for high-stakes, error-intolerant workflows (filings, reconciliation, ingestion, etc.),
- Working closely with subject-matter experts from legal, accounting, and compliance firms.
- Create end-to-end designs in Figma — from system architecture and wireframes to polished interfaces, including:
- shipping a redesigned workflow for ingestion, deduplication, or reporting;
- creating and maintaining the internal design system used across compliance + budgeting products;
- collaborating with engineering to simplify workflows that currently require many clicks;
- Write and maintain functional specs, acceptance criteria, and documentation that bridge design, product, and engineering.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to scope, prioritize, and deliver features that balance usability, business goals, and compliance constraints.
- Establish and maintain design systems that reinforce clarity, consistency, and trust.
Evaluate how complex rules or processes can be modeled in data and surfaced visually in a way users understand instantly.
What We’re Looking For
- 4–8 years of combined product management and product design experience. Applicants must have product management experience, not just design experience.
- Proven ability to translate complex rules or data models into approachable interfaces (experience in fintech, govtech, compliance, or healthcare is a plus).
- Excellent judgment about when to simplify, when to educate, and when to guide.
- Strong communication skills — you can explain a complex system clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable defining MVPs, writing user stories, and owning prioritization.
- Strongly preferred: Fluency in Figma, design systems, and component-based UX.
- Bonus: Experience in a political field and/or political compliance domain knowledge.
