Position Summary:

This position is ideal for the people-person who loves working on multiple aspects of the data-to-information pipeline. Your pipeline journey begins with our programs, understanding their data needs from a database case management perspective and responding by creating or modifying data collection forms that will ultimately allow us to analyze and report on the great work we do. This position houses reports and must meet monthly and quarterly funder-driven reporting deadlines. This person also supports internal staff and external community partners with questions or needs related to the data/reports. 

 

This position is full-time and based in Austin. This position offers opportunities for a hybrid work model, provided that all responsibilities are consistently met.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Data, Reporting, and Evaluation, the

Data Manager’s responsibilities include:

  • Manage various aspects of our case management database which include training staff on the database, creating, modifying and migrating forms, providing role-based access permissions, data cleanup/record destruction projects, and responding to user questions or software support needs from both internal staff and external partners in a timely manner.
  • Report accurate data measures and monitor key program metrics on a monthly/quarterly basis to ensure we are meeting agency and funder goals. Collaborating with staff to troubleshoot data discrepancies that may arise in the report.
  • Create different types of reports and visualize the end product. Reports are used to monitor data quality and integrity and report key metrics to our funders. To help us analyze program goals and outcomes for various stakeholders, data visualization skills are encouraged.
  • Supports the Director of Data, Reporting and Evaluation on special projects or initiatives.
  • Other assignments may be added as needed or required.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Experience manipulating large datasets using intermediate or advanced Excel skills. 
  • Detail-oriented and organized; able to work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Collaborative, approachable, and professional demeanor.

 

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree with three years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of SQL to work with large datasets. 
  • Experience with Robotic Process Automation.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or other tools to build dashboards. 
  • Experience working with Bonterra’s Apricot system or any other case management system.
  • Bilingual or ability to read/translate to Spanish.

 

Special Considerations:

  • Must have reliable transportation to travel within the assigned region; if driving own vehicle, must have valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work more than 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and kneel as necessary to fulfill daily duties assigned.
  • Ability to effectively/clearly communicate.
