Full Time Senior Salesforce Consultant
Sertus Partners · Remote (US - Eastern Time Zone)
About Sertus Solutions, LLC
POSITION OVERVIEW
We're seeking a Full-Time Senior Salesforce Consultant who combines advanced technical expertise with strategic thinking and exceptional client partnership skills. This role requires someone who excels at hands-on Salesforce administration and sophisticated automation design—with a particular strength in building and troubleshooting complex Flows. Development skills are a plus but not required.
This is a fully remote position with occasional travel for client meetings or team gatherings. As a senior member of our client delivery team at this young, growing practice, you'll take ownership of our clients' most challenging technical implementations while serving as a trusted advisor who helps them realize their mission through technology. You'll have the opportunity to shape how we work, contribute to our evolving processes, and grow alongside the company.
Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits including health insurance stipend, professional development budget, and flexible PTO.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Technical Implementation & Problem-Solving
- Flow mastery: Design, build, test, and optimize complex automation using Screen Flows, Record-Triggered Flows, and Scheduled Flows—you're equally comfortable building from scratch or untangling and improving existing automation that's grown unwieldy
- Configure and customize Salesforce platforms including NPSP, Nonprofit Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud
- Manage advanced Salesforce features including user roles, security settings, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and validation rules
- Build and maintain integrations with existing systems and third-party applications
- Perform data migrations, transformations, and complex data management tasks
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide expert-level support to client users
Client Partnership & Advisory
- Serve as a technical expert and strategic advisor to clients, translating their business challenges into effective Salesforce solutions
- Lead discovery sessions to understand client needs, current processes, and pain points
- Provide strategic technical recommendations grounded in best practices and tailored to each organization's unique context
- Facilitate demos and training sessions that empower clients to maximize their platform's value
- Build trusted relationships with client leadership and technical staff
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Proactively identify opportunities to add value and improve client systems
Project Collaboration & Delivery
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other team members to ensure successful project outcomes
- Participate in project discovery and contribute to deliverables including process diagrams, data models, and user stories
- Break down complex requirements into actionable tasks with clear specifications
- Manage your time effectively across multiple concurrent client projects
- Provide regular updates via ClickUp and Slack, communicating progress, blockers, and risks proactively
- Support project planning by providing accurate time estimates for technical work
- Conduct thorough testing across multiple scenarios before QA handoff
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Create clear, comprehensive technical documentation that enables client self-sufficiency
- Maintain configuration guides, process documentation, and technical specifications
- Contribute to internal knowledge base and best practices
- Mentor junior team members and share expertise across the team
- Stay current with Salesforce releases (3+ per year) and share relevant updates with clients and colleagues
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Salesforce Administrator certification (Advanced Administrator strongly preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce configuration and administration experience, with demonstrated expertise across core Salesforce functionality
- Advanced Flow expertise: Proven track record building complex automation, Screen Flows with sophisticated logic, and troubleshooting/optimizing existing Flows—this is critical to success in this role
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce NPSP and/or Nonprofit Cloud, including program management, fundraising, grants, and volunteer management use cases
- At least 3 years of consulting or client-facing experience—you know how to balance client needs, project constraints, and technical best practices
- Strong understanding of Salesforce data model, security architecture, and integration patterns
- Based in the U.S. with availability during Eastern Time business hours for client meetings and team collaboration
- Experience with data migration tools and ETL processes
- Excellent problem-solving abilities—you can diagnose complex technical issues and design elegant solutions
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, for client and internal team interactions
- Self-directed work style with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Development skills: Experience with Apex triggers and classes, Lightning Web Components or Aura Components, and knowing when to use code vs. clicks
- Salesforce Administrator certification (Advanced Administrator or Platform App Builder strongly preferred)
- Additional Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I, Experience Cloud Consultant)
- Experience with Salesforce APIs and middleware platforms
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and version control (Git, Copado)
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau
- Knowledge of common nonprofit technology integrations (donor management, email marketing, volunteer platforms)
- Prior experience working in or deeply with nonprofit organizations
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY
- Proficiency in Google Workspace tools (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- Experience using ClickUp or similar project management tools
- Comfortable using Slack for team and client communication
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
THIS POSITION IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF:
- Put clients first—you instinctively think about what you'd want if this were your money, your staff, your organization
- Have restless attention to quality—you're not comfortable until the details are buttoned up
- Communicate proactively—you surface issues early and keep people informed without being asked
- Are resourceful and dependable—you bring solutions, not excuses, and own the outcome
- Thrive while juggling multiple projects and demanding stakeholders without dropping balls
- Love mission-driven work and want your technical skills to help organizations create social impact
- Want the startup environment—you're excited to shape processes and to grow with the business
